Intellectual autobiography, ca. 1957.

This autobiography briefly describes McGrath's undergraduate education at Fort Hays Kansas State College; his graduate education at the University of Kansas, where he studied with J. D. Stranathan, and at the University of Iowa, where he worked with G. W. Stewart; some of his research in nuclear magnetic resonance work; and his satisfaction with his career which included a brief position as associate editor of the American Journal of Physics and teaching positions at Michigan State College and Kent State University.

Stranathan received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1921, and his M.S. in 1924, both from KU. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1928.
